This sign was made for a customer who wanted the classic look
of a carved sign with a little humor thrown in too. This sign features two margarita glasses and a golden dolphin jumping between the two glasses. It is made of Honduran mahogany with a marine plywood backing. It also includes gold leaf highlights and lettering and white paint on some of the lettering. The sign is finished in satin two part varnish with UV inhibitor. It took 25 hrs to machine, carve and finish and was sold to the customer for a very reasonable $350. This sign was made for a dentist in New York. It is approximately four foot by eight foot and is constructed and carved from HDU foam. This sign took approximately 25 hours to machine , carve and finish. This sign was partially cnc machined with our advanced Shopbot cnc router It features stylized text finished in 24 k gold leaf. The rest of this rather large sign is finished in automotive acrylic enamel and the coloring was chosen by the dentist using the signsalive.net unique method of rendered digital images as a guide to pick the colors he liked most. The dentist was very satisfied and the sign is now mounted in front of his office between two large finial capped beams.
